Camp Kesem at the University of Florida is a non-profit organization supporting children who have been affected by a parent’s cancer diagnosis. Children whose parents or grandparents have been diagnosed with, are currently in treatment, remission, or have passed are eligible for a free week-long session of camp; additionally, Camp Kesem provides year-round support for children by attending high school events, such as games, graduations, etc. Camp is provided at no cost to the families thanks to student volunteering efforts year round.
Camp Kesem’s annual 5K is one of our largest fundraising events, with 100% of the proceeds going towards providing a magical week of camp to children at no cost. This year’s theme, “Why’s That In Your Closet” invites runners to dress in their wackiest clothes possible and run or walk 5 kilometers around beautiful Depot Park in Gainesville.
Tickets are $15 for students and $20 for non-students and available at the link accompanying this post. Tickets include registration, a race shirt, and food and drink at the conclusion of the race. On race day, registrations will begin at 8AM and the race will start promptly at 8:30AM. Prizes from our donors will be awarded to the fastest runners!
